Functional Integral Approach to the N - Flavor Schwinger Model
نویسنده
چکیده
We study massless QED2 with N flavors using path integrals. We identify the sector that is generated by the N2 classically conserved vector currents. One of them (the U(1) current) creates a massive particle, while the others create massless ones. We show that the mass spectrum obeys a Witten-Veneziano type formula. Two theorems on n-point functions clarify the structure of the Hilbert space. Evaluation of the Fredenhagen-Marcu order parameter indicates that a confining force exists only between charges that are integer multiples of ±Ne, whereas charges that are nonzero mod(N) screen their confining forces and lead to non-vacuum sectors. Finally we identify operators that violate clustering, and decompose the theory into clustering θ vacua. ∗ Also at Institut f. Theoretische Physik d. Universität Graz, Austria

Gauge Invariant Formulation and Bosonisation of the Schwinger Model
The functional integral of the massless Schwinger model in (1 + 1) dimensions is reduced to an integral in terms of local gauge invariant quantities. It turns out that this approach leads to a natural bosonisation scheme, yielding, in particular the famous “bosonisation rule” and giving some deeper insight into the nature of the bosonisation phenomenon. As an application, the chiral anomaly is ...
متن کاملConvergence of an Approach for Solving Fredholm Functional Integral Equations
In this work, we give a product Nyström method for solving a Fredholm functional integral equation (FIE) of the second kind. With this method solving FIE reduce to solving an algebraic system of equations. Then we use some theorems to prove the existence and uniqueness of the system. Finally we investigate the convergence of the method.
متن کاملFractons in Twisted Multiflavor Schwinger Model
We consider two-dimensional QED with several fermion flavors on a finite spatial circle. We discuss a modified version of the model with flavor-dependent boundary conditions ψp(L) = e ψp(0), p = 1, . . . , N where N is the number of flavors. In this case the Euclidean path integral acquires the contribution from the gauge field configurations with fractional topological charge being an integer ...
متن کاملAn approach based on statistical spline model for Volterra-Fredholm integral equations
In this paper, an approach based on statistical spline model (SSM) and collocation method is proposed to solve Volterra-Fredholm integral equations. The set of collocation nodes is chosen so that the points yield minimal error in the nodal polynomials. Under some standard assumptions, we establish the convergence property of this approach. Numerical results on some problems are given...
متن کاملOn the renormalization of the bosonized multi-flavor Schwinger model
The phase structure of the bosonized multi-flavor Schwinger model is investigated by means of the differential renormalization group (RG) method. In the limit of small fermion mass the linearized RG flow is sufficient to determine the low-energy behavior of the N flavor model, if it has been rotated by a suitable rotation in the internal space. For large fermion mass, the exact RG flow has been...
